Junior Trade Workshop 2025
September 22, 2025
LSE's Centre for Economic Performance (CEP), London
The Junior Trade Workshop brings together PhD students in the field of international economics for a day of job market paper presentations and discussions.
The format of the workshop will consist of six presentations, each one followed by a discussion from one senior faculty member.
The official workshop program will start in the morning on 22nd September at 9.30 am and end at 5.30 pm. There will be a social event immediately after the workshop which all attendees are welcome to attend and a dinner the night before for speakers and discussants.
The workshop is being hosted by the Centre for Economic Performance at the London School of Economics and Political Science. We will provide up to two nights accommodation in London and economy-class travel for all presenters. Participation is also encouraged for non-presenters. Lunch will be provided for all of those attending the workshop. Unfortunately, we will be unable to reimburse travel and accommodation for non-presenters.
We will consider papers from PhD students and postdocs on the academic job market in January 2026.
Submissions co-authored with more senior colleagues are also welcome but preference will generally be given to papers authored by more junior economists.
To submit a paper or extended abstract, please send a PDF with the subject line "Junior Trade Workshop 2026" to juniortradeworkshop[at]gmail.com. Papers should not be published by the time of the workshop and successful authors will be expected to present in person at LSE during the workshop. The deadline for submissions is 27 July 2025. Authors will be notified of the outcome by 8 August.
